HOW HEPTOZID SYRUP WORKS

Heptozid Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate, and sorbitol, working synergistically to restore appetite. Cyproheptadine acts as an appetite-stimulant by modulating the activity of serotonin, a chemical messenger in the hypothalamus responsible for regulating appetite. Tricholine citrate functions as a bile acid binding agent, facilitating the removal of bile acids from the body, leading to increased production of bile acids by the liver from cholesterol and subsequently lowering cholesterol levels. Sorbitol serves as both a syrup base and an osmotic laxative, providing relief from constipation.
